Sound of Music fan or not, Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria is one of those places that is synonymous for our iNSIDE EUROPE SIGHTSLEEPING COLLECTION.
Occasionally, we can also upgrade the fine performing ensembles touring with iNCANTATO to so such an experience: in 2017, Choir of the Sound will be staying at Schloss Leopodlskron.
Sightsleeping with iNSIDE EUROPE means, that the hotel is an authentic part of the destination experience. This can be for its stunning location, or the rich history/significance of the building. In the case of this palace, it is for both.
Schloss Leopoldskron was not just one of the sets for the highly successful "Sound of Music" movie, but also home to its female lead, Dame July Andrews during the filming. Her actual rooms, now a suite, can also be booked and offers incredible views of the lake and mountain range.
For our "Choir of the Sound" travelers, iNCANTATO confirmed space in the beautiful Meierhof building, formerly the administration building for the palace, which is located across the beautifully manicured gardens, and even older than the palace. Meierhof has been completely renovated and offers all modern conveniences. The palaces' common spaces, including the stunning palace library, the chapel and last, but not least the Venetian room where a sumptuous breakfast is served daily, are open to all guests. The property is gated and not open to the general public.
COTS is also invited to perform a special concert at the palace as part of their iNCANTATO CONCERT TOURS experience.
